  • ​This job is a member of the Maintenance Training Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • ​Responsible for supervising the training delivery activities for the Technical Operations department.
  • This job is also responsible for the employees, facilities, and equipment utilized in the delivery of the American Airlines Maintenance training program within the respective region.
What you'll do
  • Plan and supervises activities of Technical Operations Training instructional staff to ensure operational efficiency and economy
  • Works with appropriate internal and external organizations to establish training plans and schedules to support American Airlines' FAR 121 and FAR 145 certificates
  • Actively leads the development of relationships with key business customers and stakeholders
  • Delivers customer focused products and services
  • Works with department supervisors and instructional staff, key business customers and stakeholders to develop strategic training goals and initiatives
  • Assists with driving change within the training organization by working with department supervisors and instructional staff to develop and execute innovative improvements to process and procedures which support the organization's strategic goals. Must champion these changes and actively engage in change management
  • Takes full ownership of assigned projects and does what is necessary to ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and to department standards
  • Provides timely status updates and reports on assigned projects and organizational performance to department Manager, Sr. Manager, as well as senior leadership as assigned
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and data, confer with departmental supervisors to obtain data required for planning department activities and measuring department performance
  • Provides work directions, resolve challenges and ensures established schedules and project deadlines are met
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to inform employees of organizational developments and to be appraised on current status of projects
  • When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 2 years experience effectively leading diverse workgroups such as management, non-management and contract labor work groups and manage remotely located employees
  • ​FAA Airframe and PowerPlant certification
  • Previous supervisory experience and managerial skills

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Strong PC skills and Microsoft Office knowledge

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proven leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build interpersonal relationships and foster an environment of working together
  • Must have very in depth knowledge for the Sumtotal products
  • Working knowledge of AA M&E policies and procedures and Maintenance Training policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of FAA, OSHA, EPA and other governmental regulations pertaining to training
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities and projects
