If you share our passion for creating an airline people love, we want to hear from you. **Role Summary** The Manager, Project Management is responsible for executing on the delivery of large and/or complex projects in support of the company’s initiatives in accordance with established standards and innovative techniques. **Key Duties** + Drive consistent and efficient execution of projects/programs by working closely with internal business partners and stakeholders to drive the adoption and implementation of company standards in processes and programs. + Partners with sponsors on the creation and review of new project proposals, including; business objectives, success criteria, scope, time frame allocation, funding parameters, staffing requirements, constraints and allotment of resources. + Leads project managers in the development of project plans, charters and schedules that support business needs and follows established project management methodology, standards, and best practices. + Oversees the management of projects through design, development, and implementation of new systems and process improvements. Ensures projects are managed in accordance with contractual obligations. + Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management. + Provides input into the strategy for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air project management standards, tools, templates, and processes. + Influences and directs teams and external vendors to ensure that project support, execution, and documentation adheres to company standards, tools, templates, and processes. + Responsible for monitoring costs and providing reporting progress to ensure projects are within budget; anticipates and monitors for issues. + Ensures project teams are appropriately staffed, have clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and individual commitment for deliverables. + Communicates project health to stakeholders and executive leadership. Actively identifies risks and manages with mitigation plans. + Identifies opportunities to expedite project delivery, reduce cost, and/or enhance business results. Stays abreast of emerging project management methodologies and trends. **Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills** **Required** + A minimum of 5 years as a project manager, or equivalent leadership and work experience. + 2 years of leadership experience. + Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business Administration or other related field; or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. + Hands-on experience in project management, including all elements of scope, schedule, budget, risk evaluation, issue resolution, quality, integration, staffing, and communications. + Experience in a leadership role managing projects that directly affect multiple organizations, departments and/or the entire company. + Demonstrated experience leading people and teams. + Advanced knowledge of program and project management principles, practices, and tools. + Sound, strategic thinker with a track record of demonstrating good judgement, strong business acumen, and executing plans with a sense of urgency and a mind for safety. + Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. + Knowledge of LEAN principles and process improvement tools (e.g., Accelerated Improvement Workshops (AIW), 5S, etc.). + Strong communication (e.g., verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create collaborative relationships that drive outcomes in the best interest of the company, with others in the organization, and with key external business partners.
