The Coordinator/Sr. Coordinator, Communications is part of American’s Global Engagement team, which includes the airline’s Corporate Communications function. In this new role, the right candidate will be responsible for supporting communications programs that help create a culture of engaged leaders who are caring, collaborative, and results-oriented, and understand the business’s objectives as we navigate the world ahead. Field leaders across the globe are the bridge between enterprise initiatives and American’s hardworking frontline team members, and this communications pro will help us connect those important groups to keep them informed, educated and engaged.

What you'll do

•    Support the Manager of Global Leadership Communications to develop enterprise communications programs
•    Help draft communications to support frontline leaders in their efforts to communicate with team members.
•    Be accountable for the successful development of strategies as well as tactical execution of communication plans in a fast-paced, constantly changing, multi-faceted environment.
•    Schedule senior leadership meetings, relying on heavy administrative support.
•    Provide support and content for other company channels as needed.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

•    Has excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Is relentlessly hardworking, with a passion for thriving in a 24/7 environment, and excels at juggling multiple projects at one time
•    Thinks critically and exhibits a “no surprises” and “no stone left unturned” mentality 
•    Prides themselves on being results-oriented and able to work both independently and on a team.
•    Has a keen attention to detail and accuracy. 
•    Excels as a project manager and has the ability to manage short-term and long-term projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

•    Candidate should have 1 year of experience in media relations or communications in a corporate or agency setting.
•    College degree in Communications or Journalism is strongly preferred or applicable experience in related fields.
