The successful candidate is a self-starter that will be responsible for integrating data into a variety of systems using (Data Stage or AZURE ETL) software. Responsible for developing and executing software test plans in order to identify software problems and their causes. The candidate will participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, from inception through post-implementation support, for all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.
What you'll do
- Build automated test scripts for IBM Mainframe batch and online applications in a dynamic environment
- Perform performance and functional testing associated with multiple concurrent development and/or infrastructure projects, to include the development and execution of test plans and scripts
- Research, evaluate, identify alternative design and test approaches, and code reviews
- Develop ETL codes that meets technical specification and business requirements according to the established designs and framework
- Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating development issues and recommending potential solutions
- Troubleshoot development and operational problems and provide timely solutions
- Participates in system and integration test; identifies and remedies solution defects
- Develop unit test plans and unit test cases; perform testing and troubleshooting of identified issues.
- Will be required to do production support of existing jobs and new jobs which are promoted to Production in a 24x7 fashion
- Creates other technical deliverable artifacts such as source-to-target mappings, flow charts, system documentation, test documentation, implementation run books etc. needed for project implementation
- Work with Business System Analysts, Project Managers, Architects, or management to recommend process or system enhancements
- Adheres to SOX compliance
- Coordinates with architecture team's future technology strategies
- Estimate work to be done as part of an overall agile process and be familiar with running projects in an Agile fashion
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, computer information systems, technology, business analysis, or related field
- 3+ years’ experience with SQL, XML, Datastage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Oracle, in Unix environment or equivalent technologies
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance plus demonstrated experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Sequential file, Complex Flat file, ABAP/IDOC stages, Remove Duplicates, Lookup, Join and Transform stages
- Experience with Automated testing tools (QTP and Load Runner)
- Strong understanding of Python, Azure configurations, DataStage routines, stored procedures, PL SQL, etc.
- Performance tuning best practices and other DataStage/Azure related processes and languages
- Experience with Unified Process (UP) or agile software development methodologies
- Experience supporting a production application
- All stages of application testing, including functional, usability and regression testing using various testing automation tools required, and defect tracking tools (QC / ALM, Clear Quest and Bugzilla)
- Solid understanding of database architecture
- Experience with Tivoli Work Load Scheduler and Shell Scripting (UNIX/Linux)
- Experience with Software Configuration Management (SCM) tool (i.e. Subversion, etc.)
