About you

 

You will be ensuring the service levels and customer satisfaction in Sales departments are maintained to the highest standards by managing the day-to-day operation very effectively. Promote the IKEA Concept as a tool.

What’s more, we believe that you have the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:

  • Live and share the IKEA values every day
  • University degree
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in an existing IKEA store as Showroom or Market Hall Manager and/or involved in Space planning and Dimensioning for a similar length of time
  • Detailed know-how of the IKEA Concept and the IKEA Range
  • Must have excellent knowledge of Space planning and Dimensioning Tools
  • Project Management experience or leading role in previous IKEA projects
  • Flexibility to travel across the region as per the IKEA Expansion plans
  • Must have proven leadership abilities with commercial acumen and excellent analytical and tactical ability.

 

About The Role

 

To lead the Commercial planning and implementation processes of Sales & Range plans for new stores/major rebuilds as per the IKEA Retail Establishment Plan, applying the latest regional guidelines in coordination with the Expansion Commercial team.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the Sales & Range Expansion agenda.
  • Liaise with Regional Sales Manager and his Sales Leaders to drive the commercial direction.

 

Project Design:

  • Verify and approve the Technical Design of the Sales areas for the new stores provided by Inter-IKEA.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Construction Manager to integrate the Sales & Range inputs in each Project. 

 

Commercial Planning:

  • Coordinate with Inter-IKEA team to ensure installation, usability and update of all IKEA Systems and planning tools required for the commercial planning. 
  • Key accountable (superuser) of the Range & Space Dimensioning tool for IKEA Al-Futtaim.
  • Lead and participate in the commercial planning, owning the overview of all areas and facilitating the Sales brief for new stores.
  • Ensure number and capabilities of the human resources needed for the planning.
  • Responsible for the ordering of the racking and fixtures for new stores.
  • Ensure the planning is done following the latest regional guidelines, in accordance with the IKEA Concept and mandatories.

 

Commercial Build-up:

  • Ensure implementation of the Commercial package through coordinating the new store staff, the expansion team and accountable to bring additional support if required. 
  • Co-ordinate the timing of the construction and fit out activities with the Project Management before and during Commercial build-up.         
  • Ensure that the members of the new Store Sales team are educated and trained for the store operation from opening day.

 

STORE/REGIONAL SUPPORT

  • Work in close cooperation with Regional Sales Manager and Sales Leaders and keeping an update knowledge of the Range.
  • Support existing stores for planning, build-ups…as per Expansion calendar
  • Responsible for keeping an updated inventory of racking and fixtures in our external warehouses.
  • Follow-up of the projects and post-evaluation to propose improvements on the way of working and best practices.
