  • ​This job is a member of the Pilot Planning Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • ​Responsible for leveraging advanced analytics to deliver optimal staffing levels for the airline while balancing operational reliability and enterprise cost. 6,700 daily flights and over 35,000 pilots and flight attendants create a considerable opportunity to apply analytics to forecast, optimize, track, report, and manage crew business variables. This job also is expected to develop in depth understanding of airline flying schedule, and through quantitative analysis of historical crew data engineer a robust manpower plan.

What you'll do

  • ​Develops and maintains crew staffing models to analyze manpower requirements and provide accurate crew staffing forecasts
  • Identifies, analyzes, and recommends solutions to manpower planning issues and develop strategies to optimize staffing
  • Evaluates operational and financial implications of strategic changes including, but not limited to, flying schedule, labor contract provisions, regulatory provisions, and technology
  • Completes ad-hoc projects and analyses as assigned

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Experience with SQL and Simulation software
  • Working knowledge of probability, statistics and forecasting techniques

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Strong analytical background involving data input, manipulation and presentation
  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated and logical with aggressive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to work effectively, meet deadlines, and shift priorities appropriately in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions while taking ownership of job responsibilities
