This job is a member of the Technology organization within American Airlines Credit Union. This role is responsible for all areas of the Credit Union’s enterprise infrastructure and the operations of its two data centers. Provides management level direction and operational supervision to the Enterprise Infrastructure team of engineers. Individual will work with the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure on data center projects and strategic enterprise infrastructure initiatives.

What you'll do

  • Successfully design, deploy, and manage the maintenance of the Credit Union’s enterprise infrastructure
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the management of the organization’s data center operations
  • Oversee the team responsible for all enterprise applications including, but not limited to, Netapp storage area networks, IBM midrange servers, physical and virtual servers, back-up systems, Microsoft Active Directory, monitoring and anti-virus solutions, and Citrix
  • Develop the escalation process for enterprise applications to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 resolution and documentation
  • Participate in infrastructure management team discussions to create and maintain the governance processes of the Credit Union’s infrastructure architecture, data centers, telecommunications, networks, communications systems and client engineering
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to the staff of engineers. Responsible for the team’s development and expertise of Credit Union products, services and applications
  • Manage the relationship and partnership with multiple key IT vendors. Also assists with infrastructure planning, budgeting and purchasing
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field or ten years of equivalent progressive experience (due to the complexity and expectations of this position, significant consideration will be given for NetApp, Citrix, and/or Data Center Management certifications)
  • Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems
  • Must possess or be in the process of attaining industry certifications in at least one of the key technologies listed (e.g., Citrix, NetApp, Microsoft, Cisco, Security, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Certification in NetApp, Citrix, and/or Data Center Management
  • Experience with budgeting, purchasing and variance reporting
  • Demonstrated background in managing and mentoring a team in complex environments with various skillsets
  • Previous experience working with critical system service level agreements and proper archiving

  • Ability to demonstrate superior people management, interpersonal and employee engagement skills, to include directing, coaching, counseling and motivating staff
  • Ability to supervise multiple staff personnel
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously with attention to detail and a focus on follow-up
  • Skilled in excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze problems objectively
  • Ability to exercise good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to be on-call 24/7 and flexibility for occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such data center hardware (routers, switches, and servers)
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time while operating a computer
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified
