About The Job

This job is a member of the Credit Union Team within the American Airlines Credit Union. Responsible for overseeing the operations of American Airlines Credit Union's information security solutions and establish/maintain an information security stance through policy, architecture and training processes.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Selects appropriate security solutions, consulting with IT and business units on information security controls, and oversight of vulnerability audits/assessments
  • Interfaces with peers in the Application and Infrastructure departments as well as with the leaders of the business units to both share the security vision with those individuals and to solicit their involvement in achieving higher levels of security through information sharing and co-operation
  • Plans, coordinates, and directs, as well as, provides management level direction and operational supervision of the Information Security team of three Information Security Analysts
  • Provides Information Security oversight of the Credit Union's systems and network including all local and remote locations
  • Consults on all new CU projects acting as expert in Information Security while managing the day-to-day operation of permissions, access, antivirus, data leak protection, logging and correlation, and web proxies, CASB, and any other security-related infrastructure

  • Oversees an annual budget of $1M (planning, controlling and variance reporting)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • On-call availability 24/7 as well as flexibility for occasional overnight travel
  • Capable of lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects such as data center hardware (routers, switches, and servers)
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time while operating a computer
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ensures the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field, or proven track record of equivalent progressive experience
  • Experience with most of the following: various operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory (Group Policy), DHCP, DNS, Antivirus, Data Loss Prevention, Logging Solution, McAfee Web Gateway, Intrusion Detection Systems and processes/controls, domain name management, DNS record management, cloud security, scripting, and any other relevant security-related technologies/applications
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Knowledge of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols
  • Knowledge of Information Security principles as they relate to policy, procedures, and standards
  • Ability to formulate management goals, strategies, etc., into working policy, procedures, and standards while maintaining core security initiatives
  • Knowledge of budgeting, purchasing, and variance reporting
  • Ability to demonstrate superior people management, interpersonal and employee engagement skills, to include directing, coaching, counseling and motivating staff
  • Ability to supervise multiple staff personnel
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Ability to think logically, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified
  • Strong working knowledge of hardware platforms and enterprise software applications including all of the following: VMware Xenapp, HP blade server platform, Microsoft Active Directory, and Citrix
  • Strong understanding of Information Security frameworks including PCI, COBIT, FFIEC, etc.
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
    • GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)
    • ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
    • ISC)2 CISSP
    • (ISC)2 CCSP
