Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Commercial Analytics Team Lead - Revenue and Strategy is a subject matter expert in business modelling, analytics, and storytelling at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. This role works on exciting projects that push the business forward, creates reporting and analyses, and maintains existing processes. Scope & Complexity As an individual contributor, this lead role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions to tackle complex data analysis problems and projects. This role interacts with and influences business stakeholders, brings back business challenges and independently applies critically thinking to plan for and guide the team to execute on creating data driven solutions to often ambiguous problems. The position supports the development of others within the organization, both helping to develop the team and also supporting increased performance in stakeholder groups. Key Duties - Promotes a high-performance culture by motivating team members through mentoring and training. - Track projects to completion and assist newer analysts to ensure team success. - Lead regular meetings and project timelines to improve data-driven decision-making processes, business optimizations, and predictions across the company. - Develop a deep understanding of the commercial airlines business to recommend ideas and solutions to give stakeholders what they need to be successful. - Define and develop KPIs, forecasts, and metrics to guide the business's strategic initiatives. - Develop strong collaborative working relationships across various workgroups (business, operational, technical). - Design and create tools, processes, and analyses that assist the team and stakeholders in executing and measuring strategies on a recurring and ad hoc basis. - Break down complex problems, create plans, and meet targets. - Communicate findings, develop solutions and provide deep insight to stakeholders in a concise and effective manner. - Adhere to a high standard of precision and quality control, ensure that reports and analyses are timely as well as accurate. - Defines strategy, monitors, and manages the annual revenue plan as well as the revenue forecast reviews. - Responsible for owning weekly and monthly reporting processes, as assigned, delivering reports free from errors and continuously thinking of ways to improve and recommending actions. - Maintain knowledge of all components of total revenue (coupon, ancillary, Mileage Plan, etc.) Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - 4 years of experience in story-telling, leveraging Tableau, PowerPoint, or other tools to communicate elegant solutions to complex problems in an understandable manner. - Bachelor's degree in business, math, economics, engineering or other fields of a technical nature. - Demonstrated success with peer leadership without direct reports through training and development of analysts or improving existing processes. - Experience managing ambiguous problems and converting into actionable timelines / plans through other teams. - Experience managing multiple projects through standard process. - Ability to work independently and proactively with business partners with minimal direction. - Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to other groups and explaining complex ideas in an understandable manner to management. - Experience with open-ended and highly leveraged technical projects with hard deadlines. - Experience with fast paced projects with hard deadlines and quick turnaround times. - Tableau (or other similar data visualization software) experience. - Experience using software or tools on large sets of data to model and analyze complex problems. - SQL experience manipulating large data sets. - Outstanding communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills. - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and utilizing PowerPoint to present complex ideas to non-technical audiences. Preferred - Master's degree in business, math, economics, engineering or other fields of a technical nature. - 1 years airline industry experience. - Experience leading a team of analysts. - Experience working cross-functionally across various business groups. - Experience in airline revenue management, pricing, customer analytics, and/or demand modeling. - Experience using object oriented languages to process and perform statistics and/or optimization on large quantities of data. - 1 year of airline industry experience. - Experience with Alteryx. - Experience in airline revenue management, pricing, and/or analytics. - Management consulting experience is a plus. - Forecasting and revenue / financial modeling experience, with understanding of variables affecting performance.
