What you'll do
  • Collaborates with both business and technical partners to design & implement data engineering solutions
  • Be a part of a DevOps team that completely owns and supports their product
  • Actively participates in agile ceremonies
  • Implement data and analytical solutions to enhance business processes by efficiently leveraging modern technologies
  • Implement batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud technologies
  • Implement solutions using data lake and warehousing architectures
  • Leads development of coding standards, enforces best practices and security guidelines
  • Mentors others on technical and domain skills to create cross functional teams
  • Researches and implements new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance
  • Be a key contributor to the data governance, privacy and cataloguing processes
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years of Software Development experience with expertise in data analytics, warehousing and engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in Agile methods and mindset as an approach to software development

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • Airline Industry experience
  • Airline Industry Experience
  • Knowledge of Containers and Cloud technologies
  • Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Spark ML
  • Experience with ETL products (DataStage, Informatica, Talend, etc.)
  • Cloud computing data pipeline experience (Azure preferred)
  • ML/AI pipeline deployment experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical team members

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proficiency and experience in python or similar programming language
  • Expertise with SQL
  • Expertise with Relational Databases (RDBMS) and/or No-SQL databases
  • Experience with DevOps Toolchain methodologies, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
  • Combination of experience in any of the following tools/platforms required:
    • Big Data platform: Hadoop, HDFS, Solr
    • Data Ingestion/Wrangling: Kafka, Trifacta, Alteryx, Nifi, Big Integrate
    • Scripting: Python, Spark, Unix, SQL
    • Data Warehousing: DataStage, Informatica
    • Databases: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server
    • CI/CD: GitHub, SubVersion, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy
    • AI/ML: R, DataIku
    • BI: Cognos, Tableau, PowerBI, Zoom Data
    • Cloud: Azure, AWS, IBM, Google
  • Experience with DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
  • Azure Cloud computing experience leveraging native Azure products like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Event Hubs, Azure Data Lake, Blob storage (Preferred)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra (Preferred)
