This intern is a member of the Safety Quality Analysis (SQA) Team within the Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Division and responsible for providing support to the Manager, Safety Quality Analysis. The intern will play a critical role in mining data, conducting research, and performing root cause analysis, create new long term sustainable tools that will enhance senior leadership decision making process to drive positive results for the business and ensuring the teams supported across the workgroup are able to leverage the tools provided to meet business objectives.
Job Functions
- Develop metrics in MS Excel (using PIVOT tables, INDEXMATCH, VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS formulas, etc.), Tableau, Alteryx and Cognos
- Conduct data mining and perform root cause analysis to reach solutions for the business.
- Coordinate and perform logical system design & define all algorithms and logic to use in the development of the corporate metrics
- Dictate the structure of the system so that it may be configured and modified for inclusion of new metrics without changing requirements
- Create data entry forms, prepare reports and metrics
- Secure the application and design user rights and logins
- Create complex queries and calculations
- Prepare adhoc reports
- Import/Export of data between Excel, Flat Files, Alteryx and Cognos
- Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or Analytics
- Exposure to analyzing large amounts of data and finding conclusions
- Profound knowledge of MS Excel
- Familiarity of Cognos, Alteryx and Tableau
