Job Description:
- Review the Structural drawings, reports, specification submitted by the DESIGN CONSULTANTs at each stage of the Design to ensure completeness, correctness, compliance with the scope of work and agreements requirements.
- Carry out constructability review during the Design and modification stages.
- Review in a timely manner, the DESIGN CONSULTANTs submittals and forward comments to the Engineering Manager.
- Ensure the DESIGN CONSULTANT incorporates the comments raised from previous stages.
- Attend Technical meetings with the DESIGN CONSULTANTs and other Sub- Consultants, the Contractor’s and COMPANY Team.
- Review Contractor / Consultant’s proposed design organizations and related CV’s and report to the Engineering Manager on his findings.
- Coordinate with PMC’s Document Con and PMT QA/QC Eng. to ensure that all documents related to his discipline are properly controlled.
- Review any alternative to the Design concept submitted by the DESIGN CONSULTANT, prepare and submit a report including recommendations to the Engineering Manager highlighting advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
- Review the materials proposed by the DESIGN CONSULTANT and propose alternatives to improve the quality, future maintenance, safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Review the change requests/variations submitted by the DESIGN CONSULTANT.
- Review Tender Documents to ensure completeness before issuing to Bidders.
- Participate in the pre-qualification of the construction contractors’ list.
- Review and reply to bidders clarifications, participate in issuing bulletins and attending Technical Meetings with bidders during Tender stage.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- University Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Relevant Experience:
- 15 years of relevant professional experience
Technical Knowledge/ Skills/ Training required:
- Review the Structural drawings, reports, specification submitted by the CONTRACTOR’s at each stage of the project to ensure completeness, correctness, compliance with the scope of SERVICES and AGREEMENT requirements.
- Carry out a constructability review during the construction stages.
- Review in a timely manner, the CONTRACTOR’s submittals and forward comments to the Construction Manager.
- Ensure the CONTRACTOR incorporates the comments raised from previous stages.
- Attend Technical meetings with the CONTRACTOR and other SUB-CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTORS and COMPANY Team.
- Coordinate with PMC’s Document Controller and PMT QA/QC Engineer to ensure that all documents related to his discipline are properly controlled.
- Review any alternative to the CONTRACTOR scope of works submitted by the CONTRACTOR, prepare and submit a report including recommendations to the Construction Manager highlighting advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
- Review the materials proposed by the CONTRACTOR and propose alternatives to improve the quality, future maintenance, safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Review the change requests / Variations submitted by the CONTRACTOR.
- Make sure that all site activities are properly monitored to ensure the quality of works in compliance with contract requirements and all relevant quality records are established and updated.
- Advise Planning Engineer and Construction Manager of any slippage of Progress regarding site activities.
- Participate with PMC disciplines in reviewing the Close-Out Report as submitted by the Contractor.
- Review the relevant As-Built Drawings as submitted by the CONTRACTOR and make sure that all site conditions are properly addressed.
