Senior Compliance Manager – PAY at Careem – UAE

Job Description:

• Build a comprehensive compliance program and governance structure that is fit for purpose regarding all careem pay financial instruments in all applicable markets.
• To be a strategic business partner providing assurance that business is being conducted in line with the ethical and legal international frameworks.
• Executing and MonitoringPrograms in line with the firm’s expectation.
• Testing of businesses impacted by Regulatory Changes relating to financial matter in the relevant jurisdictions.
• Co-ordination with Careem Pay management and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational goals.
• Management of open issues arising from testing and ensuring associated action plans are addressed and issues are validated in line with the firm’s expectations.
• Working closely with Internal Audit and Compliance to ensure the effectiveness of the developed Governance.
• Co-ordination of Audit, Regulator and Client inquiries and reviews relating to all financial compliance matters of Careem Pay.
• Involvement in departmental projects particularly in relation to the development of the Annual financial compliance.
• Review and roll out relevant policies and procedures and identify where local adjustments may be needed.
• Initiate, conduct and promptly reply to ad-hoc compliance issues as appropriate, within the [relevant local market] and support colleagues in understanding compliance-related risks and management of such risks.
• Have a good appreciation of the regulations applicable to the relevant business, particularly new and upcoming regulations in all applicable jurisdictions.
• Be able to demonstrate an ability to interpret financial regulations and regulatory requirements and assess operational Compliance with those requirements with particular focus on financial crime, anti-corruption and on-going reporting and compliance with the relevant standards.
• Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of control design and root cause analysis.

Job Requirements:

Education:

– Educated to a degree level, preferably business administration, compliance or legal.

• Experience in assurance (audit or similar) or relevant Compliance oversight experience.
• Possess relevant Qualifications (e.g. ICA, ACAMS, ACA, ACCA etc).

Relevant Experience:

• At least five (5) years of proven professional experience in the field of compliance / audit; both internal and external counsel/consultant experience ideal but not required- knowledge and proficient application of all relevant legal regulations (; working knowledge of corporate governance principles a plus- experience in the field of investigations as well as the examination and assessment of compliance management systems.
• Fin-tech experience, Financial regulatory knowledge of International regulations, Banking background, Financial governance experience.

• Have good attention to detail and be able to demonstrate an analytical mind.
• Have clear and concise verbal and written skills, and be able to construct and deliver Reports to senior management and Head of Compliance.
• Possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business.
• Be a team player, able to work with other team members.
• Have good organizational skills with an ability to manage, priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Be comfortable interacting with, and presenting to, senior business management and control functions.
• Have flexibility regarding working hours.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Willingness to travel across network.
