Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Managing Director Flight Crew Planning and Resource Management sets the long-term strategy and oversees the financial performance of Flight Operations and Inflight Division Resource Planning (Pilots and Flight Attendants), Administration, and Scheduling organizations. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders to execute crew-related planning and productivity for future growth and stability of the Company's Flight Operations. The Managing Director also serves as the Flight Operations and Inflight Senior Planner and Cost Manager. Key Duties - Establishes, leads and executes the development and implementation of the division's strategic business plans, performance measurements, and the development of divisions' or corporate goals focusing on continuous improvements of people, systems, and processes. - Drives efficient and accurate use of pilot and flight attendant resources including partnering with the Training and Commercial departments in planning and processes. - Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of technology solutions (hardware and software) to support crew resources and leadership strategies. - Leads the management and administration of crew schedule pairing building, bidding, day to day schedule oversight, and traveling accommodations (hotels and other transportation). - Drives the divisions' business management, analytical, and planning capability. - Oversees the divisions' budgets and business cases and reviews, analyzes, manages, and reports on the divisions' budgets and costs. - Ensures analytical rigor plays an active part in division operating decisions. - Ensures effective and efficient pilot scheduling. - Conducts regular analysis and reviews of department planning and budgetary capabilities. - Promotes a high-performance culture by developing people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and functions. - Influences company culture through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors. - Coordinates and works with the Flight Operations and Inflight Managing Directors: MD Flight Training, MD System Chief Pilot, MD Fleet Standards and Ops Control, MD Inflight Strategy and Support, and MD Inflight Operations to ensure departmental cooperation in achieving division goals and financial performance. - Assumes leadership support role for the divisions' negotiation team for pilot and flight attendant negotiations. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - 10 years of business management or planning experience. - 5 years people leadership experience managing large work groups with multiple layers. - A Bachelor's degree, or willingness to attain Bachelor's degree within six years of start date. - Proven ability to leverage business acumen, analytic and critical thinking capability to position the organization as a critical business partner. - Sound, strategic thinker with a track record of demonstrating good judgement, strong business acumen, and executing plans with a sense of urgency and a mind for safety. - High energy, positive and executive-level presence along with strong communication (e.g., verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create collaborative relationships that drive outcomes in the best interest of the company, with others in the organization, and with key external business partners. - Skilled at making and defending tough decisions, while demonstrating care and concern for the opinions of others, both inside and outside the organization. - Demonstrated ability to influence change and initiate actions that have strategic impact and drive a high-performance culture. - An active and effective leader that communicates well with her/his team to motivate and develop staff. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Master of Business Administration degree. - 5 years leadership experience specific to financial planning and analysis.
