• This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.

• Designs, engineers, and deploys systems at American Airlines data centers to backup servers using NetBackup and Data Domain products.  Additionally, coordinates with managed service providers to ensure quality backups in our managed data centers.

• Collaborates with leaders, business analysts, product owners, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements
• Maintains and enhances existing pricing applications in Revenue Planning and Technology organization
  Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions
• Researches and implements new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance
• Supports the development of coding standards and adheres to best practices and security guidelines
• Works closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 2 years of experience in object-oriented software development and maintenance using Java and J2EE

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Experience with Neo4J, Spark and Scala
• Experience in IBM WAS Liberty, Web Development
• Knowledge or experience with cloud framework

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• 1+ years of experience with SOAP based and REST based Web Services
• 1+ years of experience with Core Spring and Spring boot
• Development experience using Agile/iterative methodology, Rally, Hudson, Jenkins, and Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology
• Understanding Unix (Linux) operating system, Unix Security concepts, folder structure, links and environment variables
• 1+ years with troubleshooting and debugging Java environments, with understanding of Java exception handling principles
• Experience with SQL and Oracle database
• Experience writing automated test cases using JUnit
• Knowledge or hands-on software development experience using Java design patterns
• Understanding of Release Management principles with experience working in a strong structured environment of managing release levels and deployments will be highly valuable
• Must work well within a team environment and across teams
• Experience with DevOps, using Jenkins, Hudson and Git, and an understanding of the principles desired
  Position requires rotational off-hours on-call support
