Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Cash Manager is responsible for managing the entire cash management function. This includes bank product and service assessments, project management, fee negotiations, and financial provider evaluations, to drive down costs and gain efficiencies across the organization. This role is responsible for providing and strongly influencing leadership and direction to ensure designated cash processing reconciliation and report functions are completed and timely executed. This role partners with key business stakeholders to develop and implement processes, policies, and controls to ensure the safety and security of Alaska Air Group assets, and to conduct the related compliance assessments. This role also leads and supports reporting activities for all balance sheet, retirement, insurance, and charitable investment programs. Key Duties - Manages and approves daily cash activities including the concentration of funds, electronic transfers, and daily investment activity. Oversees all bank accounts and transactions including disbursement flows, collections, and station cash handling. - Owns daily operation of commercial bank accounts and services, including the evaluation and implementation of new cash management products and technologies. Develops cash management strategies that meet company performance and business partner expectations. - Owns and maintains fraud control systems, financial controls, and acts as lead for compliance programs and audits. In conjunction with the Director of Treasury, jointly administers user access and entitlements for bank account and treasury systems. - Defines long-term strategy for cash forecasts used to project rolling 12-month liquidity requirements; provides analysis and interpretation of cash flows. - Manages bank systems including the treasury workstation to actively leverage technology, streamline daily operations, and persistently gain efficiency. - Prepares quarterly marketable securities reports and related disclosure materials. Prepares reports and presentations related to the retirement plans and other investment programs. - Ensures proper execution of pension transactions including benefit funding, contributions, and investment strategy changes. Performs pension plan reconciliations. Engages frequently with actuaries, consultants, and investment managers. - Successfully supports broader treasury objectives and functional operations to deliver best value for the company. - Makes decisions to implement corporate response to emergencies and provides financial support to site response. - Coaches and mentors other analysts within the Treasury team, and assists with oversight of outsourced programs and vendors in a fast-paced, high performance culture. Collaborates with broader Treasury team to support general bank relationship management. - Manages financial provider relationships and technology strategy to implement best practices, and to inform business partners of cash management best practices and trends. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - A minimum of 7 years of finance, treasury, or investment experience. - A Bachelor?s degree with a focus in finance, accounting, or a related discipline; or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. - A proven track-record of prioritizing and executing multiple deliverables in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. - Demonstrated ability to build influence and consensus across departments. Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills. - Competency with cash management principles, processes, and procedures. Ability to provide cash management consultation, within area of responsibility as required. - Knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas: Finance, Accounting, Banking, or Investment Management. - Solid knowledge of internal controls and ability to identify and mitigate risk. - Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). - Excels at change management and challenging the status quo. Strong experience in performance management and process improvement. - Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Certified Treasury Professional designation, or ability and willingness to obtain. - Knowledge of Crystal Reports. - Knowledge of station cash handling operations or multi-location retail cash handling operations.
