What’s more, we believe that you have the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:

  • Live and share the IKEA values every day
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field
  • 5 – 7 years in Food Service senior experience as an inventory and cost controller in a high-volume business
  • Strong knowledge and interest of culinary or food service industry is preferred
  • Good Knowledge of inventory management / Stock takes 
  • Strong Ability to conduct Audits incoming food deliveries, invoices, entries in system for quality and accuracy; Identifies discrepancies or issues
  • Financial planning to optimize revenue, and maintaining gross margins
  • Ability to conduct spot checks in kitchen to ensure that food is prepare as per recipe standards
  • Ability to generate purchase and pricing reports, supply chain analysis, and inventory management systems to secure profitability
  • Ability to challenging suppliers for better prices 
  • Conduct spot checks in kitchen to ensure that food is prepare as per recipe standards
  • Ability to speak and understand verbal and written English at Business level
  • Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft office in Excel, access, database, or other system knowledge

 

About the role

You will assists Regional Food Manager in securing operational procedures, maximising efficiency and optimizing costs as per IKEA Food strategy. You work closely with the stores Food teams and other colleagues in the Food Service Office in the different areas that are related to: improving inventory management, controlling policies & procedures, financial planning to optimize revenue, managing and forecasting gross margins, which will be enabling for extraordinary growth and avoiding any irregularity in the process

 

Key Specific Accountabilities

Customers

  • Lead and develop a mechanism in place to ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile
  • Proactively set plans to ensure actions are taken into consideration based on the IKEA values and strategy
  • Always look at the Food areas through the eyes of our customers and walk the stores regularly.
  • Have a frequent dialogue with our guests to get continuous feedback about their experiences and to learn more about their needs and wants, then act based on their input
  • Assist in forecasting supply and demand requirements to maintain adequate inventory levels and meet customer demand

Commercial

  • Responsible to liaise closely with the commercial team on various operational and cost related agreements 
  • Implement common Food commercial framework and KPI’s adapting to local legislation and laws
  • Introduce & develop Inventory management routines, and train other stake holders regarding implementation
  • Ensuring all Food production team achieve the targeted KPI’s through effective menu costing, proper planning and inventories management

Steering the business

  • Work actively to make the IKEA Food department successful and high performing, today and tomorrow, by attracting visitors, achieving sales growth and reasonable profitability, ensuring the satisfaction of customers and co-workers, and excellent operational performance as measured through our defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as consumables, disposables costs
  • Generating purchase and pricing reports, supply chain analysis, and inventory management systems to secure profitability
  • Establish trusted relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service and cost-effective deals
  • Reviewing recipes and menus prepared by the Regional Chef and suggest the selling price
  • Control overall operating costs without jeopardizing the service level to the customer and food safety standards
  • Utilize relevant reporting tools, such as Navision, P&L, KPIs, Menu Mix, Pulse CX and Growing together, to develop the IKEA business, yourself, and your team
  • Monitor and challenge costs at a regional level by working in a lean, simple, and costconscious way using and sharing good examples and encouraging the Store Food Managers to explore smarter ways of working

Operations

  • To prepare and distributes all necessary documents to support the receiving, storing, transferring, or returning of any food and beverage items.
  • To audit and assist in the physical count of all inventory items across our operating stores
  • Carry out physical spot-checks in Food stores during stock-takes
  • Input and compiles a physical inventory routine for each store and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy
  • Audits incoming food deliveries, invoices, entries in system for quality and accuracy; Identifies and refers inaccurate or unacceptable receiving to management and informs the Food & Beverage team of any order discrepancies or issues  
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories
  • Conduct spot checks in kitchen to ensure that food is prepare as per recipe standards
  • In conjunction with the Regional Food Admin, provides analysis of F&B KPI’s related to inventories, cost and consumption as exact as possible
  • Actively cooperate with all key stakeholders within commercial and beyond to secure integration of systems
  • Be an active player in driving an open and sharing climate, be a role model of the company values
  • Be an active player in working on sustainability within Food, by sourcing of local and global ingredients, circularity in production, usage of sustainable materials and service
  • Support Food team in new stores opening by ensuring routines and processes are strictly implemented and followed
  • Participating in regular suppliers’ visits & audits according to the business needs, to ensure suppliers compliance and products are produced according to the global food safety standards where applicable (related but not limited to internal or external audits like I-Conduct, I-Way, I-Food)
