  • ​This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • ​Responsible for defining test scenarios for program-level end-to-end testing and coordinating the execution of these scenarios. The successful candidate will provide leadership and expertise to project teams including planning, managing, and program-level testing.
What you'll do
  • Provides strategic vision for the testing team that promotes efficiency in tools and automation, personnel, and processes
  • Ensures that appropriate levels of functional, regression, automated, usability, and unit testing is performed on products to mitigate the risk exposure of the company and ensure a smooth release.
  • Ensures quality assurance delivery is effective and efficient in respect to review requirement for ambiguity, effective test design, regression automation, functional & regression test planning, and defect management
  • Provides overall quality assurance sign-off and responsibilities for releases into Production
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, and decomposes high-level information into detailed requirements/user stories.
  • Manages test case repositories for regression, release criteria, and code coverage
  • Participates in cross-functional teams throughout the application development process beginning with requirements definition and ending with final acceptance testing
  • Drives automation strategies and implementation guidance to Quality Assurance Engineers
  • Provides automation leadership on continuous quality assurance process improvement, training, & team support
  • Builds strong and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fosters a culture based on high trust, accountability, and team work
  • Travel is required
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related technical discipline
  • 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance testing and Automation
  • 3 years of experience as a Quality Assurance lead
  • 2 years Agile development experience in an enterprise level IT environment

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Airline experience
  • 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance testing and Automation

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Advanced understanding of Quality Management and "best practices" with regard to testing techniques, methodologies, processes, tools, artifacts, and measurement
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of software development, configuration management, and release processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively facilitate meetings
  • Strong focus on customer service and teamwork
  • Ability to manage conflicting interests and identify compromises
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize projects in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Working knowledge of AA's reservation system, Sabre
  • Sound business knowledge of airline applications highly desirable
  • Preferred experience in an Agile environment
