Job Title: Digital Manager – Watsons
Division: Retail
Role purpose
The Digital Manager is a senior management capacity to build and drive the e-com business on all Watsons MENA e-com platforms. The role will drive commercial & digital marketing plans for all Watsons online platforms including websites, applications, loyalty program that is a mandate by Watsons Group Principal. The e-com business accounts for 20% of total business of Watsons in MENA. It is critical for the business continuity and franchise agreement aligned to ensure proper channels for the business in MENA.
Watsons MENA is the first franchise in MENA region of Watsons Group. The job holder will be dealing with stakeholders at different business levels to align with the promotions, strategies for the e-com platforms that relate to promotion, markdowns, online sales channels, etc. Stakeholders include Al-Futtaim (Planning, Marketing team, Outsourced digital marketing agencies); Watsons Group (counterparts in e-com division & Chief Information Head & Watsons MENA (Trading Managers, Operations Managers, Store Managers).
The job holder will be responsible for collaborating with cross functional partners to manage all aspects of the eCommerce business including business planning, content strategy, promotional campaigns, website design, user experience, customer service, web analytics and technologies.
Key Role Specific Accountabilities
Strategic Ecommerce Plan
- Oversee all aspects of strategic ecommerce plan including delivery of topline sales. Combine expertise in sales, marketing, technology and management to deliver a superior brand and shopping experience for all customers.
Digital Development
- Manage relationship with UX/UI Digital development team to enhance overall user experience, including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel, reporting and promotional campaigns
Planning & Execution of Ecommerce Strategy
- Be a key component in developing the effective planning and execution of an ecommerce strategy, working cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure QA and timely publishing of all web content.
- Develop and execute Ecommerce solutions
- Develop and execute creative ecommerce solutions for new and existing markets.
- Integrated campaigns
- Direct external/internal agency to deliver integrated campaigns that will deliver an increase in conversion rates, overall order size and managing margin performance across a variety of product lines.
- Management of Internet Marketing solutions, social media integration, SEOs
- Manage Internet marketing solutions, social media integration, SEO and other monitoring methodologies and analytics.
Forecasting
- Manage and devise forecasts and demand for all online trading events and BAU.
Promotional plan & drive awareness
- Work closely with Marketing and Buying to formulate the promotional plan and awareness drive.
Innovation & process optimization
- Provide innovation and process optimization initiatives such as implementing ecommerce software and other industry best practices.
- Be confident with launching full ecommerce solution in new markets.
The Candidate
- Education: Degree level
- Minimum Experience and Knowledge: 7+ years in Ecommerce
- Seasoned professional in the Beauty digital retailing market, B2B and B2C experience a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of ecommerce technologies and tactics, advanced analytics.
- A self-described data wizard able to interpret data and draw conclusions to implement new ecommerce strategies.
- Proven leader with experience both managing external and internal teams and execution of large eCommerce projects.
- Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives.
