Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Fuel Performance Manager drives Fuel Performance, leading program enhancements and ensuring fuel operations are performed safely and in compliance with all operational, administrative and regulatory requirements. This individual contributor role works cross-divisionally to analyze opportunities and evaluate operational and safety impacts or issues; and they lead the development of mitigation planning and process improvement integration. Key Duties - Analyze Fuel data to identify and drive performance and operational improvement. - With minimal direction from leadership, partner cross-functionally to build Fuel Performance solutions, relying on both change management and analytical capabilities. - Drive innovation through analysis and evaluation of new system implementations, programs and/or process improvement. - Apply deep knowledge in industry standards (ATA 103) and fuel quality testing requirements to integrate emerging best practices across the Alaska Airlines network; remain up to date on all industry changes and standards evolutions. - Communicate and ensure internal and external partners have awareness of critical and relevant updates to Fuel Technical standards, working in close partnership with industry and trade organizations; ensure vendor compliance with all applicable standards. - Lead development of Sustainable Alternative Fuel (SAF) strategy, networking both internally and externally to create opportunities for expanded SAF market. - Communicate frequently with Safety, Airport Operations & Customer Service Quality Assurance (AOCS QA) to support vendor audits, providing resolutions for Fuel Quality issues. - Represent Fuel Team in support of AS and QX interests to various consortiums, industry groups and conferences. - With minimal direction from leadership, partner with Fuel Team and cross-divisionally to determine fuel and infrastructure requirements for new markets and stations ensure operational readiness; make recommendations and monitor existing projects to ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements. - Manage vendors on quality, performance, cost, regulatory or policy compliance; identify performance issues, gaps, trends, assuring underperforming vendors are effectively managed to mitigate operational issues. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - 4 years of fuel or similar commodity operations experience within an airline or related organization. - Bachelor?s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening), including the ability to present and summarize complex information in a clear and concise manner. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. - Analytics expertise, including ability to evaluate, recommend and communicate complex data in a clear and compelling manner. - Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners. - Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including coworkers, professionals, and peers. - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to cope with conflicts caused by competing priorities. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Knowledge and understanding of airline, aircraft and station operations - Vendor management experience.
