• ​This job is a member of the Credit Union Team within the American Airlines Credit Union.
• ​Responsible for providing accounting support to collections department supervisors and other managers for American Airlines Credit Union.

What you'll do

• Balances departments General Ledger Accounts monthly
• Researches, tracks, and resolves accounting problems
• Offsets General Ledger Accounts to apply payments received by third party collection agencies
• Performs accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors
• Researches and prepares monthly variance report
• Supports accounting personnel
• Compiles and sorts invoices and checks
• Processes invoices for payment
• Opens mail and matches payments to invoices
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
• Ensures the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• ​High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Associates degree in Accounting ore related experience
• Previous banking or Credit Union experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
• Skilled in the understanding of accounting concepts and standards
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and to research, analyze, and report data with little guidance
• Skilled in excellent oral and written communication skills and effectively communicate with all levels
• Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and proficient in handling multiple projects/tasks
• Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills and capacity for attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
• Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified
