What you'll do

  • Responsible for daily analysis of all submitted CERS pilot debriefs to determine if any operational inefficiencies are identified.
  • Coordinate with the ASAP teams to follow up on any reported operational inefficiencies
  • Assists with investigations in the field
  • Complete K2 Risk Management Worksheet (RMW) for associated projects
  • Lead and collaborate the development of action plans with various departments
  • Utilize data analysis to drive decision making
  • Accountable for cross-departmental SMS data sharing meetings
  • Use Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint to create reports and presentations
  • Applies Safety Management Systems (SMS) to mitigate risk
  • Communicate critical safety and compliance information
  • Develops and presents required presentations for the monthly Safety data meetings 
  • Identify inefficiencies within the operations
  • Perform root cause analysis for identified operational inefficiencies by utilizing the SMS process
  • Interface with multiple operational departments
  • Prepare and submit recommendations for improvements to Senior Leadership
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders including governmental regulatory agencies (FAA) and our AA labor associations
  • Some travel will be required

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of related work experience
  • Experience with Corporate Event Reporting System (CERS) and Dispatch Environmental Control System (DECS)

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 5 years related airline operational experience
  • Former aviation safety and/or SMS background
  • Root cause analysis training
  • Six Sigma training

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for a FAA Part 121 major air carrier
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately, while taking direction from several sources
  • Ability to be team oriented and work cooperatively with other team members to manage the varying workload and collectively meet department goals
  • Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint presentations
  • Strong analytical and communication (oral/written) skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication
