Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Retail Operations Specialist supports the operations of the company store and provides outstanding customer service to Alaska Air Group's employees and customers. Scope & Complexity This position supports retail and other company store activities for Alaska Airlines (AS) and Horizon Air (QX). Key Duties - Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a positive and upbeat tone for the customer experience. - Share customer feedback and identify new opportunities to generate excitement and sales. - Manage the presentation and housekeeping for the store location and ensure opening and closing procedures are followed. - Utilize knowledge of reporting levels (e.g., safety, replenishment, and obsolete stock) to monitor inventory and to ensure adequate supplies to meet the annual business plan for store sales. - Administer inventory storage and communicate with manager to identify inventory challenges and makes recommendations to sell aged inventory. - Buy products (new and replenishment) as approved by the manager and administer logistics for shipping from the supplier. - Support promotions by partnering with divisions, reviewing available merchandise and product options, ordering merchandise, and ensuring timely delivery. - Interface with suppliers on a weekly basis to ensure prompt follow through on outstanding product deliveries and resolve quality and delivery issues. - Analyze product invoices and submit to manager for approval. - Prepare weekly and monthly sales and budget reports for manager. - Prepare for and attend all company-sponsored events that require company store presence (e.g., annual picnic(s), children's Christmas party, company-wide meetings, etc.). - Other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - A minimum of 3 years of customer service experience. - Strong retail math skills, to include budgeting, computing ratios, rates, and percentages to determine product usage, product pricing, and inventory levels. - Excellent customer service skills demonstrating care and excellent follow through in helping customers with purchase decisions and questions about available merchandise. Skill in encouraging others on a personal, caring basis to achieve results - Strong organization skills and excellent follow-through on customer service issues. - Ability to set priorities to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, changes in assignments, deadline pressures, competing requirements, and a heavy workload. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with an emphasis on collaborative teamwork. - Ability to listen perceptively, convey awareness, establish rapport, and trust with others. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18 - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Prior experience in retail merchandising is strongly desired. - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree. - Full knowledge of uniform pieces carried in the company store.
