  • This job is a member of the Operations Safety and Compliance Team within the Flight Training Academy Division.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of operation of fatigue risk management in support of American Airlines Flight Operations. This position provides the coordination, facilitation, and execution of fatigue training and awareness for all operational groups and management support, the FRMS Alternative Method of Compliance exemptions to FAR Part 117, and regulatory compliance data trending and analysis.
What you'll do
  • Evaluates and supports key business areas in the development of procedures to mitigate fatigue risk
  • Accomplishes the identification, justification, design, and execution of fatigue research studies to support FRMS Alternative Methods of Compliance (AMOCs)
  • Ensures the Fatigue Risk Management Plans (FRMP), FRMS AMOC records, and associated regulatory documentation remain updated with current approvals
  • Designs and delivers FRMS training packages to pilots and flight attendants required for regulatory compliance
  • Produces and disseminates safety information on the management of fatigue to the pilot, flight attendant, and operations management groups
  • Assists in the development, analysis, and trending of FAR Part 117 required reporting
  • Oversees fatigue risk data collection from fatigue reports, ASAP reports, FOQA events, and other data sources
  • Tracks and reports information on trends
  • Coordinates the safety review of company operations at the monthly and quarterly meetings
  • Deputizes for the Senior Manager, FRMS on any occasion when they are required but unable to be present for a meeting

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years' airline operational or airline management support experience

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in human fatigue studies, human factors studies, safety case studies, airline operations, and/or fatigue risk management
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience with employee reporting and software for data trending and analysis software

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Experience working collaboratively with unions, industry, and regulators
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate initiative, assertiveness, and possess the ability to interact with all levels of management and regulatory officials
  • Ability to analyze and trend safety data
  • Extensive knoweldge of Microsoft Office Suite
