  • ​Administers Human Resources policies, programs and processes for American Airlines Credit Union to ensure smooth and compliant operations, and provides assistance to employees and managers in all areas related to the Human Resources function.
What you'll do
  • Creates and posts job requisitions in both the applicant tracking system and the AACU employee portal, and performs other activities to ensure a successful end-to-end hiring process and positive on-boarding experience for new hires
  • Oversees and tracks all Leave of Absence programs, including maintaining LOA/FMLA records, entering related changes in applicable systems, and providing appropriate guidance and support to employees and managers
  • Facilitates updates to organizational structure, job attributes and position details in the HR system
  • Prepares spreadsheets and compiles data used in compensation planning and administration
  • Shares responsibility with other team members for responding to questions and troubleshooting issues related to policies, procedures, payroll, benefits, and other HR areas in a timely manner
  • Generates reports and provides data to authorized parties, as needed
  • Ensures all HR forms are updated and available to staff, and that required employment posters in all offices are maintained in compliance with all applicable governmental regulations and company requirements
  • Processes Employee Change Requests received from managers accurately and in a timely manner
  • Creates and conducts audits and other quality assurance initiatives to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Maintains all records and correspondence in a well-organized and efficient manner per department guidelines
  • Provides back-up support to the HR Staff Assistant for time and attendance administration and other processes
  • Proactively strives to stay current on policies, procedures, benefit changes, legislation, etc. pertinent to the role
  • Assists with special projects, training, HR policy updates, etc., as needed
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Ensures the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Intermediate proficiency using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Successful experience as a key contributor and collaborator within a team
  • Highly motivated and conscientious self-starter with a verifiable record of consistently excellent performance

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Associates degree or higher in Human Resources or Business Administration, and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant Human Resources work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of American Airlines’ Human Resources policies and procedures as well as employment laws, particularly with regards to hiring/recruitment, compensation, and FMLA/Leaves of Absence
  • Experience using WorkBrain and Success Factors HR Management System

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Knowledge of how disability benefits, workers’ compensation and similar programs impact the various leave types is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act, particularly with regards to job classifications and overtime rules is a strong plus
  • Skilled in strong time management, organization and multi-tasking skills, which are vital to success in this role
  • Skilled in well-developed critical thinking abilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively handle competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment
  • Ability to exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex or difficult information clearly, concisely, confidently and with sensitivity to the recipient
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of integrity, discretion, confidentiality, accountability, customer focus, empathy and professionalism are critical to this role
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people of varying backgrounds and job levels, establish trust and foster inter- and intra-departmental and external cooperation

  • Ability to quickly understand, retain and apply complex written and verbal information to work assignments

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations with ease and accuracy
  • Must have acceptable credit history, which will be verified
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance background checks
